Administrative & Online Event Support
The Right Use of Power Institute (RUPI) is a small internationally-focused 501c3 non-profit organization founded in Boulder, Colorado U.S.A. We inspire and support people in using their power ethically, with accountability, strength, and heart. The Right Use of Power™ (RUP) is a dynamic, inspiring, and relational approach to the ethical use of power to promote well-being, the common good, and right relationship. We create interactive tools and embodied, self-reflective processes and offer them through skills training, programs, resources, consulting, and coaching. Our programs are offered throughout the world so most of our work is done online with a hopeful future to offer in-person programs soon.
The Administrative & Online Support Assistant position is an integral part of our small team of contractors working to realize the potential of RUPI offerings. We envision the person who fills this role to join the rest of the RUPI staff in bringing our unique knowledge, experience, and skills to cultivate a smooth and generous RUPI community experience. While maintenance of email, files/records, and data sets are part of this position, we are often collaborating on various short-term projects to increase access to our content and germinate a beloved global RUPI community. The Administrative & Online Support Assistant would ideally enjoy this variety of responsibilities and appreciate the start-up atmosphere of our growing non-profit organization. This position is 100% remote.
Overall Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with the RUPI team and provides direct assistance to the Executive Director
- Takes on small or repetitive administrative tasks as needed by other RUPI staff members.
- Responsible for the admin inbox including responding within 24 hours to emails from our clients/members and forwarding messages where appropriate.
- Takes notes (or edits/reformats AI transcripts) in meetings where needed.
- Helps organize company files and data.
- Tracks and maintains spreadsheets, CRMs, and databases including registration information for the Training Director
- Make small content updates and changes in WordPress and assist our members in accessing the website
- Assists with group scheduling using Doodle and email communication
- Helps with scheduling for the podcast and following up with guests
- Provides coordination and light support of short-term initiatives like creating how-to videos, facilitating a membership campaign, finding a solution/best practice for community networking, etc.
- Provides Zoom event technical support during online events and training sessions as needed.
Online Event Support Responsibilities:
- Arrive early to each event with event facilitators to coordinate details
- Assist event attendees with technical issues related to joining and participating in the event.
- Monitor the chat, Q&A, and polls, and make sure attendee questions are answered.
- Create and monitor breakout rooms for discussions and exercises
- Respond to technical inquiries from staff and provide solutions promptly.
- Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of each event.
- Record events and help manage recordings.
- Document any technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Commitment to co-create an environment of belonging and a demonstrated understanding of privilege and oppression and the impact these have on equity, access, and opportunity.
- An understanding and appreciation of the mission, vision and values of the Right Use of Power Institute.
- Proven experience providing administrative support preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with project management.
- Ability to perform research that is strategic (not AI-generated).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to navigate and troubleshoot software applications
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency preferred.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- 3 or more years of administrative support experience
- Training in RUP or a willingness to be trained
Work Hours, Compensation & Benefits:
- Contract position
- 10 hours/week (Admin) plus Online Event Hours (see our calendar for event dates)
- Hourly compensation

We value work/life balance and provide a minimum of a month of time off every year. All of our regular contractors and employees also get to attend our online training offerings and online events for free.
