Bio | Hi all! Here’s my bio: Kathleen McGoey (she, her) is a trainer and facilitator of restorative justice practices and conflict transformation. Kathleen launched Kathleen McGoey & Associates, Inc. (KMA) in April 2021. She and her team provide training and facilitation of restorative processes to businesses, nonprofits, families, and community groups worldwide, and consult with cities seeking to implement community restorative justice programming. She is the former Executive Director of Longmont Community Justice Partnership (LCJP), where she oversaw community restorative justice programs in partnership with police and schools for 8 years. Kathleen has an MA in International Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.  She began facilitating conversations around social justice issues in Tijuana, Mexico while serving as the Executive Director of Los Embajadores. She has published 3 books, including co-authoring The Little Book of Restorative Teaching Tools and The Little Book of Restorative Teaching Tools for Online Learning (Skyhorse, 2020 & 2024). She runs RestorativeTeachingTools.com, a free online collection of activities for teaching restorative practices. Kathleen speaks Spanish and is recognized for her ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments that prioritize embodiment, authenticity, and wellbeing. My RUPI background: I initially became aware and got involved with RUPI through Colorado Coalition of Restorative Justice Practitioners (CCRJP). I attended the PCRIP course (Power Conscious Restorative Integration Program) and was inspired by Amanda, Ki, and Sarah’s facilitation, which led me to participate in Ki’s 12-week Language for the Open Hearted Warrior course, and this continued immersion into power-consciousness motivated me to apply for the RUP Facilitator Certification. |
