SUMMARY:Semester Core Training (7 sessions) March 2026
DESCRIPTION:Our 2026 Semester Core Training is a self-paced\, multimodal course with 8 online asynchronous modules and 7 live integration sessions. You will be responsible for completing the required modules before the corresponding live integration sessions. This learning experience follows our Basics Training (which is a prerequisite for the Core Training). \nThe Core Training is for people who are ready to dive deeper into all of the types of power. In the Right Use of Power™ approach\, we explore our own relationship with power and increase our skill in navigating our personal and professional relationships. \nIn our Semester Core Training\, you will: \n\nLearn about the neurobiology of power and how to counteract the effects of our brains and bodies on power\nExplore role power differentials and learn how to handle challenging interactions when there is a power difference.\nUnderstand the importance of feedback and the difference between intention and impact.\nStart to understand the shadow aspects of power and how we can work with them.\nLearn how to work with conflict in power-conscious and generative ways.\nBetter understand systemic power and how it influences the other types of power.\nLearn about shame and other emotional experiences that may impact our use of power\n\nAfter our training\, participants have said they can now: \n\nBe more ethically proactive around power dynamics.\nEngage their personal power with more awareness and presence.\nBe more aware of the shadow aspects of power.\nLean into feedback and conflict with more skill and awareness of power.\n\n  \nSemester Core Training Integration Sessions: \nIntegration Sessions will be every other Tuesday and will be 2 hours long.  \nTime: 11:00am – 1:00pm MDT (Denver/United States) each day \n(Due to the complexity of the time zones\, we are only sharing the Mountain Time Zone. Click here to see the hours in your own time zone) \nPlease see our Video Recording Policy. Over the last 25 years\, Susan has worked with thousands of leaders in the US\, Canada and Europe to cultivate mindfulness and authenticity\, strengthen relational\, coaching and strategic skills\, and effectively lead the changes they want to see in their organizations and in the world. She has a unique ability to create energetic and high-trust learning environments that accelerate the achievement of practical organizational results while building strong\, collaborative relationships. Formerly a Vice-President and Chief Learning Officer in the technology sector and an international consultant\, she was also the founder and Director of the Authentic Leadership Center at Naropa University. Susan has a Ph.D. from Fielding Graduate University in Human and Organization Systems\, a Master of Science degree from American University/NTL in Human Resource Development\, and a certificate in Change Management from Cornell University. She enjoys hiking\, biking and watercolor painting. \n  \nKi Smith \n \nKi (she/her) is a Contemplative Psychotherapist\, consultant\, and facilitator of Nonviolent Communication presented through an ever-evolving Power-Conscious lens. Ki is passionate about co-creating spaces where collective wisdom is valued and centered\, and where growth edges can be met with curiosity\, courage\, and collective care. Through her business\, Warrior Wisdom\, LLC\, she offers counseling\, consulting\, Power-Conscious NVC coaching\, and a 12-week course rooted in the integration of The Right Use of Power (TM) and Nonviolent Communication\, entitled “Language for the Open-Hearted Warrior.” Ki is grateful to have ongoing mentorship and support from others in this work as she walks the path of the compassionate and wise “Open-Hearted Warrior\,” humbly knowing the journey is never complete.

They lead GZA INK\, serve as Associate Director of the National Center on Domestic Violence\, Trauma\, and Mental Health\, and direct the Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor Training Program at the University of Chicago. A survivor and published author\, Gabriela centers trauma-informed\, survivor-led approaches and intergenerational healing in all their work. \n\n\n \nHosted by Maya Shaw Gale\n\n\nMaya Shaw Gale is a Board Certified (BCC) life and leadership coach\, a certified Hakomi practitioner and trainer\, an energy medicine teacher\, and an advanced RUP teacher. Over the past year\, she has been part of a team developing a RUP coaching and consulting application. Based in Sedona\, Arizona\, Maya maintains a private practice where she coaches community and business leaders\, healers\, spiritual teachers\, artists\, and highly sensitive and empathic individuals. \nThroughout her life\, she has studied with a number of shamanic and indigenous teachers and is deeply committed to integrating indigenous perspectives of interconnectedness and reverence for all life into contemporary culture. She has served on the Board of the Tribal Trust Foundation\, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting indigenous cultures and supporting wisdom keepers in sharing their teachings. Currently\, she is collaborating with two corporate consultants to develop Business Beyond Usual\, a new paradigm approach to business.
