SUMMARY:Power-Conscious Authentic Leadership
DESCRIPTION:A 10-week online training synthesizing Authentic Leadership and Right Use of Power concepts and practices for leaders of teams\, organizations and communities. The program consists of six 2-hour classes and four 1-hour integration/coaching sessions. \nAuthentic Leadership encourages leaders to bring themselves fully and creatively to their leadership challenges and to invite others to do the same. Becoming an authentic leader involves expanding self-awareness and presence\, cultivating good communication skills and leading with both vulnerability and courage. However\, power dynamics can sometimes derail leaders’ best intentions and create awkward moments that erode trust. \nIntegrating Right Use of PowerTM concepts and practices into your leadership approach will strengthen your ability to lead with integrity and empathy by enhancing access to your personal power and acknowledging the impact that role and status power have in all of our interactions. \nWe will explore the 5 types of power in the context of Authentic Leadership—helping you understand the power you have and how to wield it skillfully with empathy and compassion. This is particularly important in diverse work environments in which power is distributed unevenly in society\, and yet we seek to create inclusive workplaces. \nThe 6 bi-monthly\, 2-hour class sessions will include community-building\, lecture\, dialogue\, small-group interaction\, self-reflection and embodiment exercises. \nIn addition\, there will also be four 1 hr integration sessions with the instructor\, to explore specific leadership challenges and receive personalized coaching. This is open to everyone. \nLearning Outcomes: \n\n  Understand the role of authenticity in cultivating trust and engagement in the workplace\n  Understand how the “Right Use of Power” can enhance one’s ability to lead with integrity and heart\n  Learn and apply the 3 core competencies of Authentic Leadership\n  Explore the 5 types of power and how they influence leadership roles\n  Increase self-awareness\, credibility and leadership impact using a variety of methods\n  Discuss how to effectively bring these skills into the workplace\n\nPrerequisites for this program: \n\nRight Use of Power Basics Course\nRight Use of Power Core Training\n\nClass Sessions \nWednesday \nOctober 1\, 2025 12pm – 2pm MDT ~ Introduction to Authentic Leadership and Right Use of Power \nOctober 15th\, 2025 12pm – 2pm MDT ~ Embodied Presence and Personal Power \nOctober 29th\, 2025 12pm – 2pm MST ~ Skillful Communication and Role Power \nNovember 12th\, 2025 12pm – 2pm MST ~ Compassionate Change and Status Power \nNovember 26th\, 2025 12pm – 2pm MST ~ Creating a Culture of Authenticity\, Trust and Empowerment \nDecember 10th\, 2025 12pm – 2pm MST ~ Practicing Authentic Leadership Moments\, Integration and Celebration \n  \nIntegration Sessions \nOctober 8th\, 2025 12pm – 1:00pm MDT \nOctober 22nd\, 2025 12pm – 1:00pm MDT \nNovember 19th\, 2025 12pm – 1:00pm MST \nDecember 3rd\, 2025 12pm – 1:00pm MST \n  \nCancellation/Refund Policy: \n\nFull refund minus a $50 admin fee available up to 2 weeks before the first day of training OR\nA voucher for the full amount paid for a future training available up to 1 week before the first day of training \n\nAdditional Questions?  \n We’re happy to answer them!  Email us at training@rightuseofpower.org . \nInstructor:  \n \nSUSAN SKJEI\, PH.D.\, PCC\, is a RUPI Faculty Member and teaches in the Core and Teacher Training programs.
