She continues to guide a multi-year effort to transform organizational culture around equity and inclusion across multiple geographies\, and is experienced in strategy development\, evaluation and learning\, facilitation\, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. \nShe is a certified coach through Leadership That Works\, a graduate of Right Use of Power Institute’s teacher training\, and a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory. She is also an experienced meditator and currently studying the application of Buddhist contemplative psychology toward psychosocial change efforts.

SUMMARY:Semester Core Training - February\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Our 2025 Core Training is a semester long\, self-pace\, multimodal course with 8 online asynchronous modules and 7 live integration sessions. You will be responsible for completing the required modules before the corresponding live integration sessions. This learning experience follows our Basics Training (which is a prerequisite for the Core Training). \nThe Core Training is for people who are ready to dive deeper into all of the types of power. In the Right Use of Power™ approach\, we explore our own relationship with power and increase our skill in navigating our personal and professional relationships. \nIn our Core Training\, you will: \n\nLearn about the neurobiology of power and how to counteract the effects of our brains and bodies on power\nExplore role power differentials and learn how to handle challenging interactions when there is a power difference.\nUnderstand the importance of feedback and the difference between intention and impact.\nStart to understand the shadow aspects of power and how we can work with them.\nLearn how to work with conflict in power-conscious and generative ways.\nBetter understand systemic power and how it influences the other types of power.\nLearn about shame and other emotional experiences that may impact our use of power\n\nAfter our trainings\, participants have said they can now: \n\nBe more ethically proactive around power dynamics.\nEngage their personal power with more awareness and presence.\nBe more aware of the shadow aspects of power.\nLean into feedback and conflict with more skill and awareness of power.\n\n  \nCore Training Sessions: \nSessions will be every other Tuesday. Marcia is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner and Senior Trainer\, and a Certified Teacher and Practicum Trainer in Mindful Self-Compassion. Marcia has an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy\, and has over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and families\, experiencing the effects of bereavement\, trauma\, stress-related illness\, cancer\, mental health issues\, and challenges in relationship. She also offers Clinical Supervision and Mentorship to counsellors\, Hakomi students\, and for those interested in the Right Use of Power. Marcia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC. \nMarcia is delighted to have found the Right Use of Power\, and finds it to be a useful model for creating respectful relationships in all areas of her life. Marcia has completed the Right Use of Power’s Teacher Training\, and brings a high degree of respect and awareness for power dynamics as they arise in relationships. She is committed to finding ways to build awareness of her own privilege\, status and role power in her personal and professional life\, and to support this growth in others. Marcia brings a combination of gentleness\, compassion\, humour and playfulness to her work. She is grateful to live on Salt Spring Island\, with her husband and dog\, on the west coast of Canada. She enjoys kayaking\, gardening\, writing poetry\, and walking with her dog on the beach.

She continues to guide a multi-year effort to transform organizational culture around equity and inclusion across multiple geographies\, and is experienced in strategy development\, evaluation and learning\, facilitation\, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. \nShe is a certified coach through Leadership That Works\, a graduate of Right Use of Power Institute’s teacher training\, and a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory. She is also an experienced meditator and currently studying the application of Buddhist contemplative psychology toward psychosocial change efforts.

Our Right Use of Power™ programs focus on increasing skillfulness\, engagement\, and awareness in uses of power. It is ethics from the inside out. \nOur Basics Training is a 5-hour live\, online global learning experience for people who want to deepen their understanding of power and start to learn how to use power with strength and heart. She is the owner and founder of All Thrive\, contributing author to the Art of Connection\, and the host of the weekly live show Your Mind-Your Reality-Your Results. She holds an applied degree in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership (ETOL)\, and a diploma in Social Work\, both from Mount Royal University\, and is currently a registered social worker. Her work and volunteer experience has focused on helping people understand more about themselves\, and grow their confidence. This also includes working with youth in a wilderness based addiction and mental health program. Later\, Leah went on to supervise that program\, where she focused on program development and growing her facilitation skills as she trained multiple staff teams. She is now the owner of All Thrive\, where she helps people and businesses develop their skilfulness in personal and professional relationships. She is certified in True Colors personality typology\, and the Right Use of Power (effectively using power dynamics).
