DESCRIPTION:Right Use of Power™ is a dynamic\, inspiring\, and relational approach to the ethical use of power to promote well-being\, the common good and right relationship. We share a language and framework for understanding and navigating power with strength AND heart. \nThe Right Use of Power™ approach is a conscious ethics deep-dive and recognizes that the issues of power in relationships are complex. Our Right Use of Power™ programs focus on increasing skillfulness\, engagement\, and awareness in uses of power. It is ethics from the inside out. \nThis Basics Training is a 2-day\, 2.5hrs live\, online global learning experience for people who want to deepen their understanding of power and start to learn how to use power with strength and heart. Empowering\, relevant\, and dynamic\, our program is presented through engaging presentations\, facilitated discussions\, and experiential practices. \nIn our Basics Training\, you will: \n\nLearn about the five types of power side-by-side with people around the world in a connecting and conscious environment.\nExpand your understanding of the nuances of power\, which creates more room for complexity in relationships.\nDeepen your awareness of your own personal power and how it impacts others.\nGet an introduction to power differentials and their key aspects for better navigating relationships.\n\n  \nBasics Training Series: \n2 days (2.5hrs per day) \nTime: 4:30pm-7:00pm MST \n(Due to the complexity of the time zones\, we are only sharing the Mountain Time Zone. Click here to see the hours in your own time zone) \n  \nDates: \n\nWednesday\, September 3rd\, 2025\nWednesday\, September 10th\, 2025\n\nWhere: Online using Zoom (link will be provided after registration) \n  \nContinuing Education Credits (CEUs): \nThe Right Use of Power Institute™ is an NBCC – Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEPtm) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. Driven by her core values of curiosity\, courage\, and connection\, Amanda is adept at putting things together in new ways\, creating visuals that help make learning more accessible\, and communicating complex ideas in simple ways. \nAmanda has a commitment to be courageous in the service of reducing and repairing harm in relationship and promoting the cultural shift toward power-and-equity consciousness\, conflict positivity and conflict competency. At the core of her academic and personal passion is the advancement in understanding social power dynamics and deepening the personal and collective uses of power in the world with wisdom and compassion. \nHer doctoral dissertation focused on the dynamics of shame and power in the justice system and she continues to develop theoretical models in the intrapersonal and interpersonal experiences of power dynamics\, including the integration of neurobiology\, contemplative practices and restorative practices as they relate to power differentials. \n  \nSarah Buino \n \nSarah is trained as a Right Use of Power Facilitator and also serves as Chair of RUPI’s Mission Circle (Board of Directors). We are delighted to introduce her as our presenter this month. \nSarah Buino\, LCSW\, RDDP\, CADC\, NMT\, is a multi-talented therapist\, speaker\, educator\, consultant\, and visionary founder of the therapy practice Head/Heart Therapy\, Inc\, and business consulting organization Head/Heart Business Therapy. As an esteemed member of Loyola University Chicago’s adjunct faculty and dynamic podcast host\, Conversations With a Wounded Healer\, she passionately advocates for personal growth and collective action.

SUMMARY:Semester Core Training - September\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Our 2025 Core Training is a semester long\, self-pace\, multimodal course with 8 online asynchronous modules and 7 live integration sessions. You will be responsible for completing the required modules before the corresponding live integration sessions. This learning experience follows our Basics Training (which is a prerequisite for the Core Training). \nThe Core Training is for people who are ready to dive deeper into all of the types of power. In the Right Use of Power™ approach\, we explore our own relationship with power and increase our skill in navigating our personal and professional relationships. \nIn our Core Training\, you will: \n\nLearn about the neurobiology of power and how to counteract the effects of our brains and bodies on power\nExplore role power differentials and learn how to handle challenging interactions when there is a power difference.\nUnderstand the importance of feedback and the difference between intention and impact.\nStart to understand the shadow aspects of power and how we can work with them.\nLearn how to work with conflict in power-conscious and generative ways.\nBetter understand systemic power and how it influences the other types of power.\nLearn about shame and other emotional experiences that may impact our use of power\n\nAfter our trainings\, participants have said they can now: \n\nBe more ethically proactive around power dynamics.\nEngage their personal power with more awareness and presence.\nBe more aware of the shadow aspects of power.\nLean into feedback and conflict with more skill and awareness of power.\n\n  \nCore Training Sessions: \nSessions will be every other Tuesday. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Right Use of Power Institute and is a sought-after speaker and coach who guides organizations and communities in co-creating structures that foster healthy relationships and generative communication. \nKi Smith \n \nKi (she/they) is a Contemplative Psychotherapist\, consultant\, and facilitator of Nonviolent Communication presented through an ever-evolving Power-Conscious lens. Ki is passionate about co-creating spaces where collective wisdom is valued and centered\, and where growth edges can be met with curiosity\, courage\, and collective care. Through her business\, Warrior Wisdom\, LLC\, she offers counseling\, consulting\, Power-Conscious NVC coaching\, and a 12-week course rooted in the integration of The Right Use of Power (TM) and Nonviolent Communication\, entitled “Language for the Open-Hearted Warrior.” Ki is grateful to have ongoing mentorship and support from others in this work as she walks the path of the compassionate and wise “Open-Hearted Warrior\,” humbly knowing the journey is never complete. \n  \n
