Core Training in August 2023
Right Use of Power™ is a dynamic, inspiring, and relational approach to the ethical use of power to promote well-being, the common good and right relationship. We share a language and framework for understanding and navigating power with strength AND heart.
The Right Use of Power™ approach is a conscious ethics deep-dive and recognizes that the issues of power in relationships are complex. Our Right Use of Power™ programs focus on increasing skillfulness, engagement, and awareness in uses of power. It is ethics from the inside out.
Our Core Training is a live, online global learning experience for people who want to deepen their understanding of their personal and role power, and have more skill in navigating their personal and professional relationships. Empowering, relevant, and dynamic, our program is presented through engaging presentations, facilitated discussions, and experiential practices.
En nuestro Core Training, podrás:
- Learn side-by-side with people around the world in a connecting and conscious environment.
- Gain a better understanding of the nuances of power which creates more room for complexity in our relationships.
- Gain awareness about your power style and power parameters.
- Explore role power differentials and learn how to handle challenging interactions when there is a power difference.
- Understand the importance of feedback and the difference between intention and impact.
- Start to understand the shadow aspects of power and how we can work with them.
Después de nuestras capacitaciones, los participantes han dicho que ahora pueden:
- Sea más proactivo desde el punto de vista ético en torno a la dinámica del poder.
- Engage their personal power with more awareness and presence.
- Sea más consciente de los aspectos oscuros del poder.
- Lean into conflict with more skill and awareness of power.

Dr. Cedar Barstow
RUPI Founder & Co-Executive Director
Cedar has been passionate about working with issues of power and ethics for 25 years. She believes that embodied learning—learning from the inside out—is both the most engaging and the most effective way of learning. She has been surprised at how many experiential processes can be adapted to virtual formatting. She loves teaching, developing programs, and helping to guide the growth and reach of RUPI. One of RUPI’s foci for the next few years is increasing diversity and contributing to social justice—which, of course, is a right use of power. She is also a Trainer with the Hakomi Mindful Somatic Therapy organization. She lives with her husband, Ren, in a co-op home in Boulder, CO.
